Ballinrannigh Angus Herd

The Ballinrannigh Angus Herd was established in 2004 by Joe Malone. The Ballinrannigh herd is situated in the picturesque village of Ballyferriter. In ’03 and ’04 I was interested in breeding pedigree cattle. I was looking for a breed with excellent maternal traits and ease of calving was essential for me. At the time I was out wintering cattle and for me the Angus cattle are extremely easy to maintain and cope very well with our Winter conditions. Overall I am extremely happy with the breed and can safely say the work load has decreased since I began breeding Angus.

We purchased our first of set of heifers from Leo McNaroe in Lisduff Co Cavan in 2004. These heifers are the foundation of herd and we have continued to build the herd each year. We are now breeding fourteen Pedigree females. Our stock bull Aughnamona Lord Jamie has produced some excellent off spring. He is sired by TLA Prides Revival and bred by well know breeders Ms G Shanley and Mr D Spring in Leitrim.

This is the first year that we have stock for sale. We have a selection of Bulls for sale from ten months to twenty months sired by Aughnamona Lord Jamie.
