About Boveen Hereford HerdBoveen Hereford herd is situated between Birr and Roscrea just one mile off the N62 on the R491. Boveen Herefords was formed in the early 90s. Through careful selection of top Herefords Herds throughout the country we purchased our first females from the renowned Dromakeenan and Dunlever Herefords Herd which included females from the Statley, Pansy and Orange families. We felt it was imperative to start off with top quality females as we would reap the rewards in years to come. Those early purchases in the early 90’s have formed the foundation of the herd today. Almost 80% of the present herd have originated from the Dromakeenan Herefords. In the Boveen Herd today we have over twenty breeding females. Using top quality sires from proven bloodlines crossed with cow families from within the Herd has created a high Genetic base in the herd. Sires used in the herd include Rathcor Ranger, Breaney Sam, Knockmountagh Napoleon, Freetown Gorbachev, Jnhr Diamond 28b Lisnalurg Vinceable, Glaslugh Esquire and Breaney Sam. In 2004 we made an excellent acquisition when we purchased the Show Champion from Roscommon Hereford Sale Kilsunny Abraham. Five years on and Abraham is still in the herd and is breeding top quality stock with excellent length conformation. Our Junior stock bull was our most recent purchase in October 2009. Corran Classic is a son of Ervive Classic bred by the Anderson family of the Corran Hill Herd. Tel: 0505 47989 |
