About Doonbeg Limousins

Doonbeg Limousin was established in 1997 with purchase of top quality Gamin cows from Michael Sexton’s Mount Scott herd. In the early days we purchased heifers from the well know Hartside Herd in Scotland. To breed and produce the very best cattle we use a 100% AI on all our females using sires with high reliability, top growth rates and proven maternal abilities along with top muscle. In the past number of years we are using mostly powerful genetics straws on our cows and result can be seen on the ground with some top prizes and Limousin show and sales.

Achievements

Doonbeg limouins won the Co Clare Limousin Herds competition for 2008 in the medium herd’s category. Doonbeg champion came second in his class at the Beef Expo in Kilkenny and was later sold to Patrick Haugh in Cross Co.Clare for €5000.
