Successful Year
for Drummin Limousins
Drummin Limousins has just had one of its most successful
years. In October 2008 Drummin Veronica took the coveted
prize of Overall Limousin Champion at the Beef Expo in
Kilkenny. Veronica was a September 2004 born cow shown
on the day with her stylish Shire Milton calf and had
earlier taken the Female Championship. This home-bed daughter
of Mas du Clo was no stranger to the show ring during
her younger years, taking the All-Ireland Intermediate
Heifer Final in Tullamore in 2007 and the Reserve Female
Championship on the same day.
Awards
In the past two years the Drummin Herd has been awarded
with the Clare Limousin Club “Small Herds Competion”
in 2008 and 2007. We were also awarded with” Best
young Bull” 2007 and “Best Group of Calves”

About Drummin Limousins
The Drummin herd was established in the late 90’s and
began showing in 2005. Drummin Peach has been the foundation
of the herd, who is a dam to Drummin Veronica and Drummin
Candy Man who was Junior Male Champion at Roscrea Premier
Sale in Roscrea in October 08. On the day he was noticed by
William Cowyx of Hudscales Limousin in England who purchased
the champion for €7,200.
We have a strict breeding policy of using a 100% AI on all
our females we only use sires with high reliability, top growth
rates, high docility and proven maternal abilities together
with good muscle and skeletal indices. The herd consists of
sires such as Mas Du Clo, Navarin, Lino and Scorboro Regius.
Embryo transplant also plays a major part in our herd using
Embryo’s from our two top breeding females in Veronica
and Peach. To date Peach has bread 32 calves on the Drummin
Farm.

and sold to Peter Walkers Pedigree Herd in Scotland.

Premier Sale Roscrea Results
Drummin Limouisn recently brought four bulls to the Limouins Premier sale in Roscrea. On the day we sold three out of four bulls. Drummin Cal sold for €3400, Drummin Conor sold for €3600 and our top price on the day was for a Scorboro Regius bull, Drummin Casius who went for €3700.
