About Rosemount Speckle Park Herd

Speckle Park is a new breed to Ireland and the UK with the first Embryos imported in April 07. Speckle Park cattle originated from central Canada. The Speckle Park breed is a beef breed of Medium size, that converts forage very well and has high dressing out percentage. Speckle Park is a Carcass Breed that consistently produces quality carcasses, with marbling, but without a thick layer of outer fat cover. In July 2006 at the Calgary Stampede Steer Carcass Competition with a total of 43 entries from various breeds, a Speckle Park carcass took top spot, with Speckle Park taking 3 of the 4 top placings. The breed has also won the “All Breed Steak Challenge” and the “ Beef Quality Award” in recent years.

The Breed is naturally polled, docile and noted for ease of calving. Speckle Park cows are very maternal and have good udders with correct teat shape. They are very hardy and healthy and can withstand the harshest conditions.

Rosemount Speckle Park is one of the first group of breeders in Ireland and we have a selection of Incalf Embryos from the Top Cows and Sires available.
